Ice is out on Shagawa Lake; winner will be announced Saturday in Ely Echo

Although it snowed in Ely on Wednesday, winds from the west howled down Shagawa Lake on Tuesday and pushed the remaining ice away. A boat could have crossed the lake from Grand Ely Lodge to the north shore!

The Osakis Review held their annual ice out contest. There was no winner for 2012 because no one entered.  I could of had and easy win. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
