 Tuesday, April 10, 2012 


Pictured is a plane scooping up water from the Rainy River to drop on the fire, Friday, April 6. Boats kept the sides of the river to stay out of the way.

State land was burned and no one was injured. About 490 acres of land was damaged. The Baudette Fire Department assisted with structure protection and Border Patrol and Lake of the Woods County Sheriff Department closed the highway during the blaze.
