you mean gays living together as a couple and getting the same benifits as married couples?

no problem with that as long as they keep it to themselves.
As far as usinge the term marriage?  no, they shouldn't.
Gay union... gay partership... call it what you want.
but not marriage.

OK - I'm piping in late here, but I really don't care what he swears in on.  As long as he does what he's supposed to do when he gets in.  I have serious doubts.

That said, I was on the plane a couple weeks ago in which they took the Imams off the flight before taking off.  Rubbed legs with one of them in row nine.  It was quite the deal and US Air was 100% right in what they did.

But Rep Ellison jumped right in saying he was going to try and arrange a meeting with US Air regarding the incident.  I emailed him to let him know that before he embarrasses himself in front of the airlines, he should talk to me for a first hand account of what REALLY happened.

Funny, I never heard from him.
My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character.

Here's how it went down Jiggle (Sorry, I'm cutting and pasting this from a post I had on another web sight).

When I entered the gate area and saw these guys sitting together, I immediately had an uneasy feeling and mentioned it to my wife. The best I can describe is the feeling one would have walking down any dimly lit street in any major metro area at night. You approach a group of 5 people on the corner, shouting at passing cars. You don't pay a whole lot of attention to what they are wearing, you just don't make eye contact and hope like hell that they don’t begin to follow you down the street upon passing them by. Then they do.........

None of the men had on anything that would distinguish them as some sort of cleric, and even if they did, I don't think it would have made any difference in the vibe I was getting.

While waiting for the plane, one of the younger men walked over to where we were standing and started throwing papers away in the garbage, shredding up most of what he was throwing away. He was there for about 2-3 minutes.

I never saw the praying that has been so widely reported, but once I walked onto the plane, one of the group was sitting in first class - aisle seat. As I entered the main cabin, another one with dark glasses on was standing in the front row while everyone boarded the plane. (I later found out he was blind, but didn’t know that at the time.)

My wife and I were seated in row 9, next to another one of the group who sat in the aisle chair. After everyone got their seat, the one standing then asked to exchange seats with a young man who was also in row nine, but in the other aisle seat. The remaining two were seated in the back of the plane. If I were going to take over a plane, that’s exactly how I would have set myself up.

The two proceeded to speak in Arabic for the next 20 minutes or so. My thoughts, at this point, literally turned to "What am I personally going to do if these guys start to make some sort of a move?" I could see my wife was nervous, but we didn't talk. I later found out a girl sitting directly in front of us understood Arabic and alerted the flight crew as to what they were saying. She was writing some pretty lengthly reports after we deboarded. I also found out after the fact that 3 of them only had one way tickets and no luggage.

Notice again how, for me, praying never even comes into this?

Two police came onto the plane, the two next to us immediately shut up and one was actually pretending to be trying to get some sleep. Those officers went to the back of the plane for about 5 minutes, then left. About 10 mintes later, 3-4 police and some plain clothes marshals came on, went to the back and then worked there way forward tapping each of these guys on the shoulder to follow them.

US Air handled this admirably. No one panicked, even though it was evident by the look in the eye of one of the flight attendant as to what was going on. After the group was taken off, each of the men were brought back one at a time to retrieve their carry-ons. I looked out the window and saw that the police had brought over a dog. The flight attendants then opened every overheard compartment and verified with each passenger if what was up there was theirs.

US Air, after the men left, announced that anyone who wanted to leave the plane could and they would arrange for another flight. Only a few did.

We then deplaned and the airline unloaded all the luggage from the belly and brought the dogs on board. 3 hours later, we were back on the plane heading for Phoenix. And I couldn’t have been happier.

I applaud as loud as I can for the job the Airline did in this situation, on the eve of the busiest travel day of the year. They assured us that if for ANY reason they felt this plane wasn’t safe, they wouldn’t have left. After watching them in action, that was good enough for me.

And to think I had just watched United 97 last week.
My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character.

Okay the very first question that comes to my mind is why was the media reporting the praying, when Harold was as close to the action as anyone. even if they were praying in a language from the planet zoildrg any body could tell a prayer if one was happening. So I am going to assume the praying did not happen. So right off the bat something stinks. Another huge problem with this is why would the police bring the guys back on to retrieve their carryons? If anyone was to think this is a serious situation and these guys are truly dangerous the police should be the ones to know and there is no way they would let someone intent on blowing up or hijacking or whatever to the plane back on to retrieve anything. I say the whole thing was staged.

I didn't say the praying didn't happen, I just never saw it and it didn't play into what I witnessed going on.  It must have happened when I wasn't in the waiting area or had already boarded the plane.

As far as them bringing the men back on the plane, they did it one at a time, escorted by 2 cops and a marshall.  They didn't allow the men to touch the bags, only to point at which one's they brought on.  The Marshalls them carried the bags off the plane. The flight crew then went back and verified with every single passenger on the plane the bags that were left in the overhead were ours.

If your implying that this was staged, who are you saying staged it?  The airlines?  The Muslums?  The police?  The Air Marshalls? The Passengers?

I've come to believe that these guys were doing a dry run.  I think getting escorted off the plane was the main goal, so that they could go to the media and create an environment sympathetic to the cause, while at the same time reporting to someone else exactly what they could or couldn't get away with.

It's been five years since the last attack and I believe the next one will make 9-11 look like nothing.
My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character.

What about the woman who understood arabic? What are the chances that any Jane Doe off the street who spoke it  would just happen to sit within earshot? Thats quite a convenient coincidence. If you first answer the question why then the who will probably be answered. And don't get me wrong I certainly am not questioning what you saw or heard. But I always got this problem of questioning things that don't quite make sense. It's like when I was a kid and ma would say something (usually to do with religion) that I would question and she would just say cause thats the way we always did it.  Why do you think 9 -11 happened. It certainly wasn't because "they" hate our freedoms.  The government goes and blows up Afganistan and Iraq after they tell us all 19 terrorist pilots  of 911 were from Saudi Arabia. Say What??  Why not the Saudis? Then they tell us about WMD's which they never found in Iraq. Still plenty of people are gungho about blowing Iraq to smithereens when they did nothing to us. 911 could not have been carried out by pilots who couldn't even fly a cessna 152. Like I said too many questions that nobody will answer. We are just supposed to take someones, in this case the government, word for it. So I am saying the government staged this incident at the minneapolis airport to prepare the people for some more nefarious sheiss, taking more of our freedoms all in the name of security. Benjamin Franklin once said he who would give up liberty for security deserves niether.  And to you Vickieschessies, I could not agree more, our forefathers are certainly turning over in their graves. The constitution is nothing to this gang in the whitehouse, some relic of the past that means nothing to them because they are power mad. Most did not fight for this country, yet they send our sons and daughters to do their dirty work. Ah, it makes me very sad when I think of the ripped, torn, bloodied familys. I need to stop now.

well pff, you wont side with them, you wont side with the U.S.A., where do you stand then?
I know we dont see everything. I know we only hear what they want us to hear. somewhere lies the truth, but to think it wasnt the terrorists that flew the planes into the towers, then who the hell do you think did it?
dont just throw crap onto a wall hoping something sticks, lets hear what you think happened and just what we need to do about it.
sounds to me like you have been reading to many conspiracy theory books ::)

I feel these guys wanted to look suspicious, they wanted people to feel uneasy, they wanted to get taken off the flight, and they wanted to make a big deal about the whole situation in the media.  So, they did exactly what they wanted.  Just my $.02.

Anybody listen to garage logic, with Joe Soucheray? I caught a little bit today, they were talking about the guy being sworn in on the Koran. Somebody did some checking and it turns out their is no constitutional requirement to be sworn in on the bible or any religious book. It is simply a habit and a photo op for the elected to make himself look good. So now what, another fork in our road? It is quite remarkable how fast things are changing, all due to the fast superhighway information internet. We all need to keep an open mind, never blindly biased. As far as Islam a murderous religion, I would say it is all how you want to interpret it, just like the Bible. Good and bad in both depending on your personal interpretation. There are fanatic Muslims as well as Jews as well as Christians.

Of course there was good nazi's, they were blindly following their leader, thinking they were being patriotic by doing what they were told. And if they didn't do what they were told to do, woe is them. Not many would dessert or protest when it might mean their life. So actually they would have been a nazi in name only. By the way, did you know that Bush's grandfather was the owner of a munitions factory that supplied Hitler with many  weapons and ammo ? And his greatgrandfather made weapons during ww1?  The bush family has made untold billions, thruogh the suffering of innocents.

My neighbor (he's dead now) fought in Hitlers army.  Was it because he wanted to?  No.

He told me how as a teeneager he had to steal apples to help feed his brother and sister.  If he was caught he would have been killed.

After the war he had to go into exile in Brazil.  He was there for 7 years before he could come here.  He was a very interesting guy.
My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character.

So explain to me how a person/country stays open minded, yet keeps it people safe from attacks.

How do you know who the bad guys are and who's the good guys.

Maybe we should ask the families of the two solders from Minnesota who lost their lives this past week or their partner who lost his legs in the roads side bomb, what they think of a Muslum being sworn in with Koran into a United states political office
Well if you are close minded, you will certainly make more mistakes and in the game of war those mistakes mean innocent blood spilled. I could not live with it, like many vets, who went crazy when they came home from nam after killing innocent people. The higher ups call it collateral damage. It's so nice they can play God. Or maybe more likely they are playing the devil. Who's the good guy's and who's the bad? By their fruits ye shall know them.  I f you believe 19 guys caused 911  then get them.  What are these guys thinking, " lets do some shock and awe, afew hundred thousand extra ragheads dead won't hurt a thing, it's been a while since we showed the world we are still the top dog. Just wait we'll show em our government intelligence." They sure did that. And yes we should ask the families of the dead soldiers. Cindy Sheehan isn't the only mother of a dead soldier who thinks her son died for nothing. This war is a complete waste of life and money for the average person. Just like vietnam. The only people coming out ahead are whoever is involved in oil and weapons.  Prices of gas and everything else sure are not lower now than 3 years ago. And talk about less freedom now for us. Just yest. I signed up for an ATM machine. The salesman pulls out reams of paper to fill out and file, wanted to know everything about me right down to how many times a day I had a bowel movement. He said it was because of the patriot act.  What a joke. Whoever wrote that law, was counting on people not even Knowing what a real patriot is.  I consider myself a true patriot, not unlike those guys of 1776.  They did not blindly follow their leader. We will have another revolution sooner or later.

This is an outdoors forum.

Everyone is welcome here. I do not care what religion they are, what color they are or where they come from.

This is supposed to be a friendly place with a good atmosphere.

A lot of what I am reading does not fit the bill.

I cannot support some of the comments here and I won't. We won't.
