grandpajack, I'm usually a dollar short and a minute late with good, free advice! Awright! Which one of you clowns hollered "That's about what it's worth!" Wisenhimers!! If you haven't gotten your battery yet, consider the Trojan 31 series. A bit pricey, yes, but worth every penny! I used to have a teacher who always said, "Something is expensive only if it doesn't do the job for which it's intended!" The Trojan does the job and mine has been doing it for going on 5 years now and doesn't show any signs of slowing down! ;D DIRTBALL2 ;)

While we are on the subject of batteries, how would those big batteries used to start diesels like the ones in heavy equipment work in a fish house. I'm just wondering because I have access to some. Would they hold a charge longer and would they beable to take discharge/charge cycles?

Thats the down side to them is the weight but I need something cheap. The place I work has over 30 machines and the mechanic lives 1/4 mile from home. I'm figuring I could prolly borrow a few over the winter, since they aren't being used.

make sure you clear it with the boss. I would rather buy you a battery than see you loose your job over something like that.
