Wolf hunt rules

I've been reading the information released by the the DNR but a lot is missing.  One thing in particular is hunting methods.  Will baiting be allowed?  I assume you can bait if you trap, but can you also bait if you bow or gun hunt?

  sorry!! after thinkin it over....wouldnt work anyway. as you said in an earlier post, there meat eaters not poop eatin critters!!!!!!!!!!

seriously though, i've personally never seen a wolf during the deer hunting season when i've actually been huntin. at nite crossing the road..yeah. will be curious how this all shakes out!!!!!!

The rules have not yet been established as far as I know. The public is not in any way involved in the decision making. The legislators by far know better than the people.

If our current batch of legislators are involed in coming up with the hunting rules, they will simply fight about the caliber, how far away you must be, shoot only during sunny days, $5 must be spent on saving eastern tweet warblers for each wolf killed, money designated for an inner city wolf education project, blah, blah, blah.   Then on November 2, they will put out some jibberish that no one will know what to make of.

I am really curious how this wolf hunt is going to happen. I am wondering how "Wanton Waste law" is going to be applied. You are not going to hunt the wolf to eat it's meat so that means you are hunting it for it's hide or as a trophy? How many will be shot and just left to lie by hunters who "Just want to kill something" Baiting? They are meat eaters so do use a ham or stake out a lamb. Just thinking out loud here...

I had wolves at 2 of my bear bait sites this last fall while sitting on bear stand...wonder if they would still be hanging in the areas come November...they really liked the fish carcasses we threw in the bait sites...but they also cleaned out the oates/corn mix as well.  The one single wolf stayed and gobbled up apples and all till he got enough logs tore off to reach the fish, then he grabbed them and took off.

In response to the wanton waste question, I assumed thats all wolf hunting would be is trophy hunting, I wouldn't be surprised if canine meat is actually good but it's definitely a cultural taboo that I'm not ready to cross, BUT, what about Mt. Lion?  I have never heard of anyone eating a cat, I imagine in regards to wanton waste it would be similar, I dunno.
