Strikemaster Electra Lazer 8 Inch

I am looking at buying one and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with one. I will be useing it to open and reopen holes in my wheelhouse not drilling 100 holes a day. The reviews I have read all look good but I would like to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly from unbiased fisherpersons. Thanks.

A friend of mine has a strike master electric auger and he enjoys it.  He said the only bad thing is if the ice is thick he needs more then one battery to open all 8 holes.  His is 3 or 4 years old now and I'm not sure if it is the exact same model as the one you're talking about.

The laser bit is nice for blasting holes, just not that great at re-opening holes.

I have the plain Strikemaster and it works great for reopening holes. I dont know what the diffference is with the lazer model. The battery needs to be full charge but will do 8 holes thru 20 inches if you allow time to recover. I usually clean holes between drilling.

I bought one last year and it works great. I have drilled my 6 holes, my buddies 8 holes, and a few outside on 1 battery through 12-15 inches of ice, although I usually hook the cord up to my fish house battery which keeps it running at top speed. The only negative is that through real thick Ice I would agree it snags a little more when re-drilling holes than a gas auger, but not too bad. There is also is no smell in the house when your done.

i have one in my wheel house. i use the cable that comes with it and just clip it on my deepcell in the house. can do all holes no problems.
