We spent last weekend at Wild River  what a beautiful park. Campsites were very private with lots of trees and brush between sites. We are thinking of trying another park in July. Does anyone have any suggestions on good ones with private sites? We camp in a tent so no need for electric or anything.

I love Split Rock Lighthouse state park.
Cart-in sites, with a lovely view, and closeby to great trails.

This is from site #19

Afton is also great, but it's quite a hike to the remote sites.

I've got other ideas... What part of the state/ how far do you want to go?

i went by Savanna Portage by Mcgregor the other day, and there is a Very nice park up there. very big, wide open park. not all crammed in one small spot. i guess there's good fishing with the 4 lakes in the area. everywhere i went there were hiking trails. quite a vast variety of trees up there too. i was at the bottom of the hill where it was all tamarac, and went up the hill and it was pines along with a few maples.

Glacial Lakes State Park is by far my favorite. You have to be willing to hike 2+ miles to get to it, but the Baby Lake campsite is the way to go. Your own private lake  :fishing: Not much of a shore line there. But you can make it work if your determined. The Kettle lake site is a little bit shorter of a hike and than you have 2 lakes to yourself  :fishing:

So your aware you'll have o hike in you firewood and water.
