Mayfly hatch continues here, lots of the little buggers. They are even in the dogs water bowls, fishing is slow, hard to compete!

I just got back from Ear Falls Ontario.  Mayfly hatch was on.  The ankle biting sand flies were on fire.  Mosquitoes were also lean mean and hungry.  I brought lot's of bug spray and used it all. :banghead:  Walleyes were biting.  Pike were hard to come by.  I had a great trip though.  The lake I was on had Lake trout in it.  Everyone in my group got some except me.  I had a couple on but none to the boat.  :oops1:   It's just been one of those years.   :bonk:

Fishing is going to be a little quiet here for the next month I am guessing, no problem with heat as yet another day in the nineties today. Got my fingers crossed for a good thunderstorm this afternoon....

Well finally a break coming in the weather. Looks like a week of 70's for highs and low 50's for lows. Of course this time of year there should be a good dock bite going on but with all the rain the docks are sitting pretty low....

Heading out this afternoon to a small little hidden jem deep in the back woods. With all the rain the past week I hear the lake is high and the landing is deep enough to get the Puddle Humper in. Little lake even has walleye in it so who knows what could happen !  :rotflmao:  :whistling:

Good luck.  You have a great day to be on the lake.  Sometimes I wish I did not have windows at the office. :banghead:

DDS I am sure you had a better day at the office then I did fishing :fishing2: Skeeters were brutal and from talking to a local resident the little lake was up over a foot in the last week and we did not get a single tap let alone a bass bite. A few small northerns but I am not so sure it was not just the same nothern following us around the lake.  :banghead:

Had a GREAT day on mille lacs sat.  A personal best 42 inch pike and teamed up with my friend and caught 15 smallies.  All on topwater. 3 fish below the 18 inch slot and my friend had a 21 and a 21.5 incher to claim the big bass of the day.  We started out on Indian point and moved north a few miles.  All the fish were caught before the sun came out.  The Pike hit just as the clouds started clearing.  I had worked the rapala popR half way to the boat and started to reel the lure back to the boat real fast when the pike hit.  Only the tail hook was in the tip of the fishes mouth.  8 pound mono with no leader.  I am definitely living right.  A 45 second fight and the fish was in the net.  3 quick photos, a short video and the fish was released.  Took off immediately giving me a splash in the face.  We tried leadcore trolling and only manages a Barbi pole and a 24 inch walleye.  Hoping to get back up in a few weeks.
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.
