Thats what the morels are doing with this rain that we are getting now.  I will be hitting my favorite spots all day sunday.  I did a quick check wed. but the whole forest was to dry.  One of my customers found 75 of them in 5 min just off of the 10th tee box.  I will be going to that golf coarse to look for other areas.

Anybody elso find any yet?

I didn't see any while turkey hunting on Tuesday or Friday.  I plan to go check for morals soon.  Thanks for the heads up.  I don't know what to expect but I'm guessing with the long cold spring followed by the quick warm up, it should be a good year.  Of course, I'm always optimistic when hunting and fishing so the same goes with hunting morels.   :happybounce:

I went back to the exact same trees that had zero morels under them yesterday and found a couple hundred little greys.  With the rain we got yesterday they popped overnight.  The weather forcast is for more rain the rest of the week.  I don't expect to find them for to long this year with the late spring.  If you want to find some shrooms check the south facing slopes with dead elms and you should hit paydirt.

dakids,
Thanks for the information.  I will be checking for them next time I go to my property.
