Good news!!

The phone survived and is coming back to life and working great - guess it just needed a good washing once.

Jigglestick, Bob-o and John stopped in this morning.
The morning bite was pretty slow - only 1 walleye. The cold front moved in big time and everything slowed down except the wind gusts at 25-30 mph and windchill at -16.

The ice and roads are all in great shape. I got all the houses banked again against the wicked wind. The crappie bite has slowed up too from what I've heard.
Haven't moved yet but waiting to see what the fish do.

Hope to see you on the ice!

Russ, it was great to see you and your new bunk mate ;D
didnt realize how much I missed the big lake until I got out there and pulled up my first slab.

we ended up with !! slabs and kept two walleyes that fit nicely in the upper end of the slot.

I was glad to hear your cell phone survived the drink test, but you realize this will cost you.
one does not get off lightly when denying the triangle of its rightfully claimed gifts.

for all who wants to get out, dress warm. they are talking - single digits for the next five days.

the crappie bite wasnt gang busters, but it was steady. considering I only pulled up two all last winter up there, I have already topped that my first trip up!!

dont forget to give me a call if you need a hand you old codger ;)

Russ, I may have missed something on the other thread, but how did you recover the cell phone from the grips of URL?

Here is how the 'lost phone' became the 'recovered phone'

When Russ was done drilling the holes he started fishing and after about a half hour he snagged a nice walleye.  After pulling him in, by golly, the strap on the phone was caught right around his neck!   :o
Even Russ wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't seen it himself!!

OK, here's the real story:
What he told me was - 'he dropped it in the hole' and I should bring him a new phone.

He forgot to say that he was able to scoop it up before it went all the way down.
The next time I talked to him (about 12 hours later) he was trying to dry it out and it was maybe going to come around.
It took 2 days but it is working again.

I guess I have to ask the right questions to get the whole story.   ???

Today the cold front slowed the fish down for a while but they came back quick.  The guys that have only been here for a couple hours already have 3 keepers and have given back 5 or 6 more.

Not much snow on the ice but drifts that had been around the houses are cleaned up and houses are banked again.

Putz and Gambler showed up today so Russ is going to go meet up with them again tonight - maybe at the temple???

Russ's phone is working great thanks to the triangle  giving it back - still wondering what the repayment fee is going to be!

I am really looking forward to a good time and good fishing this weekend - will give Russ's reports when I get back on Monday or Tuesday.

Gee, I think Russ sees a lot of unbeleivable stuff in his shack, but the only unbeleivable thing I ever see in there is the unbeleivable number of empty Mil cans.   ;)
