for those of you who are still bow hunting after the gun season how late in the year do you hunt? i myself like bow hunting in December there don't seem to be as many hunters out and about late season and if you will be hitting the woods for the rest of the bow season what are your plans? hunt food? hunt the heavy snow trails? do you move stands the you hunted early season to a different location for late season? what do you use to keep warm on the  :cold: days out there?
Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

I normally don't hunt the late season - but I plan on it this year.  For hunting I don't like that the cold weather is moving in, but I do like it for ice fishing purposes.
I will be throwing up the trail cameras in a few different spots to see if I can pattern one of these big bucks.  I was out last weekend in the wind/rain and I think all the big bucks were bedded with does.  Since all I saw were small bucks (4pters and spikes - poor guys had no women).
Anways, I will be out as much as I can in December and hope the weather cooperates.  Ive got lots of layers and toe warmers.

I'll be hunting right up to the last day of the season, do it every year. Hunt the hallway between the bedroom and the dinning room. After the rut finishes up here they will be focusing on their food sources. As far as gear to stay warm, I love the cold, I will have the same outfit on as I do in the early season, with the exception of I will throw a sweatshirt on under my scent blocker jacket. I really think allot of guys don't seem to understand what a difference it makes in your shooting when you bundle up like an Eskimo and head to the woods, especially with a bow. After all, do you throw you winter gear on and practice shooting your bow preseason? I think not! Heck most guys don't practice in their hunting gear, always T-shirts and flip flops from what I have ever seen! Man-up, do it right or stay home by the fire place and your mocha-lota-chito-coco! Down with Obama Care!

Bow hunted on December 30 last year and December 31 the year before.  Miss judged the distance and shot under a doe on December 30 last year. Maybe it was just too cold for my bow.  I usually try to pick a nice day and only hunt the afternoon.  Just something about going out in the dark with single digit temps waiting for it to get light that doesn't appeal to me.  :rotflmao:

Has any one ever tried one of those battery operated jackets for late season bow hunting??

I'm not stopping until I get my buck. I think I have him locked into a pretty good pattern right now. Hoping to close the deal this weekend! Hunting the next 3 days.

After I get him I will hopefully shoot does. Most of my cold weather hunting will take place from a ground blind.

I hunt right thru the end of the season. Then take up after yotes after bow hunting is done. Along with hitting the ice hard, just love the winter sporting adventures!  :snow5:
