Fishing remains consistent.  A variety of year class walleyes being caught, including great classes of smaller fish mixed in with eaters and some trophies.  Saugers are filling the buckets, with 12 - 14" being the norm with an occasional 16".  Lots of tulibees this week.  Same routine, jigging spoon with minnow head in one hole, dead stick with plain hook or drop shot and live minnow in the other.  Best colors, gold, glow red, pink and orange.  Depth, 28-32'.  Still a morning/evening bite in 15-20'.  Pike anglers doing well in shallower depths with tip ups.

Anglers fishing the Rainy River are doing well.  Walleyes being caught near airport, Baudette Bay, Hattie's Hole and Clementson Bay.  19-21' most consistent.  Morning / evening producing the best.  Pike active in bays.  A 40+" pike caught this week in Baudette Bay not far from Willie Walleye.

Up at the NW Angle good fishing continues.  Combo of walleyes, saugers and mixed in jumbo perch in 23-28'.  Anglers venturing into Ontario finding big black crappies adjacent to deep bays.  Work through resorts if venturing out amongst islands as ice conditions fluctuate.  For lodging, fish house rentals and snowmobile trail info, www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com.
