Snow reports?

I would be interested in hearing snow reports or actually snowmobile trail reports through out the state.  I have 2 sleds and I've been itching to get out on the trails.  I was hoping to get a lot more snow then we have this year. It's really making it hard justifying keeping the sleds and not selling them for an ATV.

I live in St.Cloud and usually by this time of year I've been able to go up around Ely to go riding but even this year the snow hasn't been that good even up there.  I would perfer to go some place closer like around here or maybe around Brainerd, due to the gas prices getting so high, and a trip up to Ely with gas food and lodging is never cheap.

Loko, I would like to give you some kind of trail info but that I know of, not a single trail in Minnesota is open that I know of.

 I live just southeast of Grand Rapids and the trails are brown with dirt sand and rocks.

 I have 5 sleds sitting in the back yard I pulled out of storage. We have washed them, greased them and checked all fluid levels. When I pulled them out, we drove them on snow. Now they sit on grass with tracks in the air, boards under the skies and their covers on.

 We did recieve a dusting of snow last night

 This is killing the industries dealers,  motels, hotels, cafe's bar's Etc NOT GOOD!

There is plenty of snow in Colorado. I feel terrible for all you snowmobile junkies this year. Hopefully we get some cold weather and a few nice snowfalls soon.

Put about 15 miles on the new sled today...all on the lake.

 We got around 2-3 inches here in Jacobson

 I made a run to the cities yesterday. On the way home the worst roads were around McGregor/Big Sandy Lake area. They got about 4-6 inches of fresh snow. Lots of sleds out by the Big sand Bar. Looked to be water pushing up through a pressure ridge on  the bay by the Hwy 65 over look/wayside. Roads were snow packed..ruff..and slippery as all get out.

 Supposed to be more snow on the way for Sunday/Monday.

Still praying for snow in all of northern MN. Not much snow in the Crane Lake area or up around Grand Marais.

The Ely area is supposed to get some snow over the next few days so there may be better riding this weekend.

All lakes in the Ely, Babbitt and Tower area have been staked. The Ely Igloo Club has been packing and grooming some of the smaller local trails. The Grassy Lake Trail is still nice for riding, but no more Chainsaw Sisters, as it was recently sold and turned over to the Forest Service. Bummer!

Riding is doable on the lake trails to get around from Ely to Babbitt to Tower.

Everyone needs and wants more snow, but try the trails in the Babbitt area. The Stony Spur and the Taconite Spur are groomed and in condition so you can at least get out an hit the trails.  The lakes in and around the Babbitt and Ely area are also staked so there are additional riding opportunities once you get there.

The trails have been less than optimal, but there's been decent riding here in this pocket for a while now.
