If you can find open water/night trolliing

This report is from a fellow guide night fishing Lake Geneva.

I've been out a few times in the past month in between all the brown trout and steelhead fishing going on. Fianlly had a great night recently with my friend and fellow lake Geneva guide Steve Everetts from Finnseekers guide service.

It's been hit and miss for me with some nights nothing but a few pike the other few times I've been out 1-2 eyes.

Best baits have been lucky crafts pulled on fire line or power pro with a 10 lb test florcarbon leader and also adding a big split shot to get the bait down deeper. Perch and gold and black have been the best colors, also caught a few fish on 18 rapala's in the perch and black and silver colors, be sure to add a snap swivel or loop knot for better action. The 2 most important things I saw were finding the big schools of bait when possible and staying in the 14-22 foot depths. lastly, the rods that have been getting bit the most are the rods we are pumping in our hands and the fish are mainly hitting on the pause while you pump the rod.

The area's I've done well in this year are East of Lynn Pier on the trinkes flats there are several long fingers with nice weed clumps that come out into the lake, the north shore directly across from lynn pier to the narrows, and cisco bay but closer to cedar point on the west side of the bay. This can be a very tough lake to fish and every time I go out I learn something new.
