Lots of lake being covered this week as fish stay deep but also start to move in for fall run. All methods being used. Down rigging with wally divers and shad raps in 30-35 feet of water up near Garden Island or Archie's Reef. Crawler and leech harnesses doing well in 15-20 near reefs and island points, 6 miles north of Lighhouse Gap, 6 miles out from Zippel Bay Gap, or just off Pine Island. Use hammered gold spinners.

On the Rainy River, jigging during the evening hours with a frozen shiner 14-20 feet. Gold, glow, or pink colors doing well. If drifting, stay in 16-18 depth range. Sturgeon anglers going well heading east towards Birchdale, with some reports near the mouth of the river near Lighthouse Gap as well. Keep one season through September 30.

Up at the NW Angle, Four Blocks and Little Oak working with spinners and jigs. Mixed bags made up of walleye, perch, crappie, and some bass fishing 25-30 feet. Muskie bite picks up evenings near weed beds using smaller lures and slow presentation. For more information, www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com
