Here's a bit of info as to why CWCS continues to be vigilant.

Why CWCS continues to fight… “(We will) embark on a 10 year campaign to get every single motor out of the Boundary Waters.” – Friends of the Boundary Waters lawyer, Brian O’Neill, quoted in May 20, 1998 Star Tribune

The Friends of the Boundary Waters have proposed 90,000 acres for new wilderness including the following units.

CWCS opposes any more designation of wilderness, especially in Northeastern Minnesota.

Our country has a backlog of unhealthy forests, including the Boundary Waters with 500,000 acres of downed trees from the 1999 Blowdown.  ‘Hands off’ management that bans logging and other land management tools raises the risk of wildfires.  CWCS opposes more restrictions of Common Sense public land management & multiple use recreation!

Let your Senators and Congressmen know – Enough is enough!  (Addresses available at www.cwcs.org)

WOW!!! thats alot of land they want tied up out of reach of 99% of all sportsman/women-Minnesotans.

A person don't have to wonder why our outdoor Org. have their hands full 24/7 trying to keep what little access we have left open.

Thanks bdub for the eye opener..Bufflehead
