Short story...last winter early Jan fished my first ice fishing tournament ( ok first any tournament other than Eelpout festival or Frank Schneider Muskie tournament fundraiser)  It was in ND on Lake Metigoshi for bluegills which I had never ice fished for.  It was -35F that am I didn't win but got 5th place in the NAIFC tournament and qualified for their Final on Millacs on Dec 20th.

This is down in Isle bay up to Popes Point (Hennipen Beach) and over to Hawkbill pt. Ive never even been on Millacs...

Any MNO members fish this area?  Its a Perch, gill, crappie tournament.  Any suggestions for hot perch jigs, depths to look for them on early ice?  Gills and Crappies???  I assume look for submerged green vegetation??

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated!!  PM welcome.

Great article, Tks!  Also searched the net last night sounds like Isle bay will be a lot different this year as there are 100's of spearing houses on the cabbage that's in the bay...guess they are spanking the big northerns....better get up there Glenn57....

I might should stick with looking for jumbo perch???

Photos of the trip will come!  Ill be wearing my Lucky "Fawkinnae" hoody....
