Me and the wife will be heading up early Saturday morning. Never fished the lake before. Is there any kind of structure to look for? From what Ive heard its pretty much a shallow basin?

Theres stucture but u pretty much need a map chip. Ten ft-13ft and get away from every one. I liken sometimes setting up late morning it tells me where every one is. Then i move away from them. All the commostion can push fish out an area. So i go to those areas. Cant alway do that tho.

Been doing some talking with my peeps, im gona be up there this weekend but really not sure what im gona be doing, Last weekend the south shore shut down because of a truck falling in a crack, and west wind has a sheet separate pretty wide. this warm up is gonna cause something, separation possibly I dont know, but just not to keen on it with the warm weather pushing 40. I have to move my house to a new local at my cusins place, and m olest lives in bemidji so maybe ill take her out for supper an do some xms shopping. Not sure.

I will be up on red lake this next weekend, 19-21st. Anyone have any advice for me or going to be up there?  I only fished red lake once back during the crappie days.  I will be up there with a wheelhouse.

first break, get away from people, if you don't catch anything or don't catch more than a few fish in the first hour, move.  start in 8-9 fow, and move around until you get on them.  no reason to go way out yet, caught 50+ from 7-2pm the other day with 2 people. in 8 1/2 fow.  shiners on rattle reels, rainbows for jigging.  deadsticks out producing jigging.  (I think the jigging is bringing them in)  hottest hook was blue demon/shiner on rattle reel 1 foot off the bottom.

we've been driving our 1 ton out for 3 weeks now.... just drive slow and you are fine.  stay away from the big launches (jrs, rogers, west wind) where these idiots drive 30+ mph all over the place. PM me if you are bringing your own house and want to go out of a quieter place.
