Fishing Report Lakes Oahe/Sharpe Pierre area for Oct 4th thru the 11th 2015

I guided Lyle Roberts and friend Rusty for two days and then fished repeat customer Tom Werblow and group from North Platte Ne for a couple of days and had limited results for both groups and that is the way the bite is. With both of these groups we had one day of 6 to 10 fish working real hard and one day of limit fishing with a better bite. The Cheyenne river area and Sharpe downriver from Pierre is where we fished using both bouncer/minnows and flicker shad plugs trolling. It seems like it is real good fishing (lots of boat traffic) one day and real hard the next around Pierre. Minnows or plugs are the bait of choice however crawlers still work. If we get some colder nights things might come around to a nice fall bite but for now it is an off and on bite for most anglers. If you are going to fish around the Pierre area be prepared to fish with a lot of other anglers especially on weekends. Pheasant opener for out of state hunters is next weekend and there are big numbers of birds but not many harvested fields around Pierre but most good hunters with dogs should get their birds.
