    • Fishing & Hunting South Dakota's Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe

We have had some just great weather lately making for overall good fishing. I haven't been on the water as much but the last three or 4 days we did limits one day then the next day catching maybe 8 fish or so. I helped Dave Spaid with some of his hunters and we caught 30 fish or so a day making for some great trips for these guys. The bite is in around 8 to 10 fow on Sharpe with plug fishing or jigs/minnows btm bouncer/minnows the baits of choice. Oahe continues to have some really good stringers some days but there are plenty of days that turn into hard work to come in with bag limits. Fish are 5 to 15 feet deep for the most part and jig/minnows or bouncer minnows putting fish in the boat. It is necessary to get your baits away from the boat especially in the clearer waters with trailing jigs way back behind your boat much more productive than fishing right under the boat. With the season winding down I will be doing these reports on more of a weekly basis. Bird hunting is great around Pierre.
