Anywhere the boat is unpainted aluminum,Get a can or two of outboard motor primer. Its etching paint for adhesion to alum bout 7 bucks a can. If its a standard Lund the inside and exterior above the spray raill are painted. Those need a good cleaning with borax or spic an span (Which is borax with scents added) clean the scum off for the best adhesion of a paint top coat.p I have a narrow 15ft lund SSD I have been planing on making into a duck hunter boat also.I've had all materials here for 3 years just gotta get off my butt an get er done.
If you paint unpainted alum.wash it with borax also and rinse thourghly!! Borax is like pumice a  fine sanding like material to pre etch for the primer OR the top coat

A lot of people online camo their boats green but pay attention to where you hunt.  A solid green boat with reed prints on it will stick out like crazy.  I'm going Tan with mine this fall then just pick some reeds up and hold them against the boat while you spray the pattern over.

I've read that having a little black in the pattern looks good as in shadows.
