I'm just getting back to archery after a long hiatus. 10 years of my daughter playing fastpitch put a definite crimp in my hunting. I used to shoot at King Archery over in Burnsville.  I believe it's Schaeffer Archery now.  They had a hunter league that was a lot of fun to shoot.  Lots of challenging targets. We had to shoot from an elevated stand, shoot through corn stocks, shoot from our knees, and the toughest one was a tire shoot.  They hung a tire out in front of the target to simulate shooting through a hole in the brush.  You had to shoot through the tire and into the vitals on the target to get credit for it.
Every night we shot, everyone threw 5 bucks in a pot and we had a pipe shoot.  A pipe about twice the diameter of an arrow was sunk into a target butt, and to win the pot, you had to shoot a perfect arrow-into the pipe.   The pot kept growing from week to week until it was won.  One guy took home over 100 bucks because no one had hit it for a while.    We also had an ironman target.  You could shoot the iron target with a smaill cutout over the vitals for double points, or shoot a standard target.  Man, he sold a lot of arrow off that target! It was a good bunch of guys and we had a lot of fun.  Usually whoever won the pipe shoot bought the first round after the shoot was done.  The shop owner was a really good shot, and one of our guys was razzing him one night about everything under the sun.  They started shooting, and he split three arrows of the guy who was giving him all the grief.  The dude shut up pretty quick.
