tundercat, for future reference, you might want to use this link to look up the dates, seasons and limits.
the book often times leaves things to interpretation.
one mans question might end up as another mans guess.

this is what I found out when I read the book.

the east west line that runs on hwy 10, E along hwy 34 to Mn hwy 200, E along hwy 200 to U.S. hwy 2 and E along hwy 2 to the mn border, creates the deviding line between the north and south regions.
which side you are on, you have to decide.

north of the line the date is march 25th, though houses may ramain on the ice between midnite and sunrise thereafter only if occupied.

south of the line they must be off of the ice by february 28th.

 :laugh: in the brainerd lakes area the fish houses have to be off the ice on the last day of february at midnight ! if they are on the ice after that they have to be occuiped at all times ! :police:
