Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm not a rider myself, but there are a few around here.

I've been entertaining the idea of an ATV. I've got the trailer already. I guess it's just a signature away. :P I just have to make it a priority. I'd really like one for ice fishing.

 >:( the Ementals are getting their way again ! more trails in the pillsbury st. forest are? and have been closed off to atv traffic. the area around brainerd has lost a major amount of free wheeling areas and we are loseing our right to tread lightly in the outdoors. first the walking trails are sold to the horse riders, then the snowmobile trails were sold to the cross country skiers, and now the bike trail is sold to the pedalers from brainerd to walker ,were is it going to stop. if i was to buy another atv i think i will buy a ford ,cheve or maybe a dodge ! at least we can still drive on the highways for now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

Hey, I have owned dirt bikes, ATV's and snowmobiles my whole life.

I remember back in the early 70s the stupid things done by snowmobilers. The sport was almost shut down because of these nim-rods.

Some of the idiots on ATVs are a 1000 times worse. Up here in Jacobson, the ditches and snowmobile trails look like we held the Baja 1000 here.

Instead of riding on the high side the ditch where it's dry. they have driven down in the bottom and mowed down all the cattails and left a big watery brown channel of water and 2ft ruts, for all the anti's to see right from their car's on state Hwy 65.

Then they have tore up the snowmobile trail so bad(one not for ATV use) so bad. the groomer can't get through the mud and waterholes untill Jan.

They did something like 160.000 worth of damage between Hillcity, Jacobson and Palisade a few years ago to the snowmobile trail.

I own three ATVs but NEVER! EVER! ride anywhere close to these tore up places. I wouldn't want ANYBODY to think I(we) had anything to do with taking part in that.

Self policing is needed...you see some nim-rod doing stupid chit. Turn him in! Let'em know, you as a ATVer are not going to stand for it any longer

If the sport is to survive...this kind of thing HAS TO STOP!! or more trails and access is going to be closed

There's plenty of room for all gods creatures...right next to my mashed potatoes

LOL, If you are a good little boy maybe you will live to be one of them old farts.  Oh, remember it is them old farts that have faught for years to keep outdoor sports alive for you to enjoy today. Are you a  active club or atvam member or are you just one of them young wipper snappers that like to complain about what has been lost without joining the fight to keep it?
not trying to start anything but if you bite an old fart you might get gased.

We will be losing just about all the riding area around town here too, because of a new mine starting up. May even have to reroute a 1 1/2 mile stretch of the only designated trail we have. To top it off a lot of acrage within the Goerge Warshigton State  Forest is being looked at to go under the Forest Legacy Program, which talks of allowing everything but mortorized recreation. The overall concept of the prgram is excellent but the scarey part is that it does not mention allowing mortorized trailes. One of the biggest areas being looked at for this proram contains the only 2 state camp gronuds and 1 cty. camp ground that allows ridding of atv's in and out of the camp ground. I strongly suggest you all read this for yourself and write your rep. in St. Pual and let them know you do not suppot this unless mortorized recreation is included. Heres the addee to read up on it.             www.dnr.state.mn.us/forestlegacy
Also we  have what we call A ride with the disabled coming up in June. This year all profits{if any} will go to two vetrians van services that transport vetrains to the V.A. clinics and hospital in the citties. These are services that are not conected to the V.A so they get no funding there and are in need of help. For more info. on this you can go to www.rangeridersatvclub.com
woodchuck, i'm not useing the walker yet but the stick is always with me. I would not fret about a place to put a walker,I have the pleasure of ridding with a fellow who hauls his chair around with him. The first time I met him I quickly found out you didn't ask if he wanted help unloading his ride or setting up his tent. He is the kind of person that makes you wonder what you have to complain about.
