I was originally going to post this under DL Area Forum but looks like it hasn't gotten any posts in over a year?  :lipsrsealed: If this needs moved someone go ahead and move it.

Anyway, I will be heading to the DL Area the last week of August. Probably fishing Stawberry, White Earth, Ice Cracking, and maybe a few others. Wondering how that time of year will be, typically I have gone both earlier and this year due to scheduling this is all I can manage.

Not looking for any honey holes or even any reports, but I've not been to these lakes in a few years so I'm wondering if they are still worth a shot.

Thanks!

Hick ya the fishing will be great.  Troll some cranks or spoons for the northerns and walleyes or drop some live bait down to the bottom and something will bite.  Will be a great time at the lake.

Toss around some 1/4-3/8oz jigs tipped with a fathead or shiner on Ice cracking. Start out in 18-20 FOW and work your way shallow. Switch out to the lighter jig when you get to 10FOW or less.  I've had some luck with this on Ice cracking. (Though I have only fished it a couple times)
Strawberry, Look for 18-21 FOW. Same thing here, 3/8oz jig head and a minnow. Color seems to matter a little more on Strawberry so bring a couple different colors with. Dark and light colors. I like to rig up 2 or more rods with different colors and switch rods out every 5-10 minutes until I start seeing some action. Otherwise, do like LPS says and drag around some cranks in 10-15 FOW. Seems like you can always pick up a Northern or Walleye on this set up!
Should be a good time of year. Might be a tad early for the hot fall walleye bite but I would bet you will pick up a few.. Good luck and enjoy your time!
Where did I catch all these fish you ask??? right in the lip....

HA!! Back off old man!! I've been busy! I can't seem to keep up with the kids now that they are in sports! Last time you seen my little guy, he was what? 3-4 ft tall? Now he's over six feet and in every dang sport he can join! Keeps me hooping and off the puter!
