I recieved some terrible news this weekend.
my son told me the one thing a father never wants to hear about his own son.
I mean we hope and pray with a good solid upbringing in a house hold that provides love and support, that this sort of behavior or attitude if you will, will not show itself in our own sons.
it seems that he has tried to tell me in the past, but I have been ignoring the signs.
sometimes I would sens it coming and I would change the subject, like "how about them vikings" or "hey have you seen that new neighbor girl"?
I cant bring myself to tell my own family. my wife and I have discussed it and she seems more accepting of it.
this really frustrates me.
I am a man. how can I accept it?
I know I can count on my cyber family for support here. we have sons.
surely you understand.
my wife says I might be surprised to know how many people have the same sort of feelings...ARRRRG! say it aint so!!
I tell my self it cant be true, but there's no more denying it.

it is true, my son likes.......PERCH!
take a kid hunting and fishing!!

Nice hat scroungie... where'd you get that?  ;D

atta boy!  Now fill up a pail of them 'Tiger fish' and make the old man fillet 'em up for you!  Once you've gotten him that far, make him fry 'em up real golden like and make him eat one!  Now you got him!

I can just ol' Jigglestick sittting on his five gallon bucket out in the middle of the lake 'windmilling' perch... He'll be so happy he'll be giggling like a little girl!... in fact he'll probably change his name to 'Gigglestick"! ::)  The rise and fall of a once proud walleye and perch fisherman.... :-[

Good Luck!

Them brinze backs are a hoot, but the grass carp need to be thinned, they eat too much forage that should be for fish with teeth.

jigglestick, Have you no shame ??? I didn't think so. ;D Remember,"Friends don't let friends fish for perch!" Since I have met and gotten to know your son for the fine, upstanding, stellar young man he is, I'm sure this is just a phase he is going through. Heck I even like to catch an occasional perch myself. Last Thursday I caught 2 that were longer than the top of a 5 gallon pail. And boy are they yummy when fried up nice and golden brown. I really think that you needn't concern yourself unduly about your son's occasional lapse's from the straight and narrow path set forth for him by his loving and concerned father. Just wait until he get's old enough to discover that girl's are just not soft boys! Then you've got a problem!:o ::) ;D ;) DIRTBALL2 ;)

I believe somewhere in the forum guidelines it has to mention something about using profanity ::)

Sorry if I offended you but occasionaly one must use profanity to emphasize a point. This affliction could be serious and we don't need the young man straying from perch to the grass carp. I am sure he will be fine, and soon get back to the toothy critters. (as we all know real fish have SHARP teeth).

Sunnidiles now thats something I never heard b4. Are they related to mermaids, but missing the flipper? Do they spend lots of time laying in the sun on the beach? If so maybe this summer I should go trolling for a brunette.
