My son and I spent the day prepping stands for deer hunting.  We checked, put up some camo and cushions, and cut any trees or brush that could interfere with a shot on 13 stands.  We also put up one new two man ladder stand.  Also, while in for lunch we fired up the Argo and got it ready for the season. 
My arms are shot from using nippers, pole nipper and chain saw.  Probably heading back tomorrow for another round of stand prep.

Hope to have the DR mower running this week and do our trails on Saturday. Did some trimming over Labor Day. You're right deadeye, arms hurt afterwards. A bottle of beer even feels heavy. At least the first two.

We did a bunch more today.  I think we got around 35 stands ready to go with about 15 more to do.  One more good day should do it for this year.  So far we put up three new stands and probably will do one more new one.  There are a couple we may not fix or prep this year so over all we only gained a few.

Options, always got to have options.  Some stands are gun only and others just used as a bow stand.  About 3/4 are for either.  Some may only get used a few times over the course of the season.  And, yes, it's always fun to mull over the pros and cons of each stand before heading out.  Best part is when there's fresh snow and you come in for lunch and see all the tracks in front of a stand that weren't there when you went out.

Going out tomorrow to put up one new one and finish checking all the remaining stands.  After that, look out deer here I come.

man aint that the truth. went through that few weeks ago with bear stands. all i could think of what if...........................

Had a few friends help today and got everything done including putting together an enclosed stand I bought for cheap last year.  All before lunch of venison steak, potatoes, carrots and onions.  After lunch we put the newly assembled stand on a previously erected platform.  Now I believe there are 53 stand locations to choose from.
