Well it finally happened. I have always figured if I am towing a boat around the state often, sooner or later I'm going to blow a tire. Well it happened. Friday heading up to the Emily area, northbound on 169 just south of Princeton, KABOOM! And yes the first word out of my mouth was FAW-KINN-AE!

Luckily I had slowed down because something didn't seem quite right before it blew. Tons of traffic but I was able to drive a short distance on the rim and get off the highway. Of course just about everything had to come out of the boat to get at tools, and everything had to come out of the back of the SUV to get at the jack.

Couldn't find all the parts to my jack but was making progress when a couple guys stopped and asked if I needed help. Said I could use a long handled screwdriver to make it easier to operate the jack, and they had one. Got the spare on pretty quickly after that. The spare was a little low and then they said, "We have a compressor." Sweet!

After I was asking them what they did and they said the have a native plant landscaping business. Told them I work part time at Natural Shore Technologies which they knew of. Turns out we were all at the same native plant conference last winter too.

Two really great, kind people, and both named Colton.

As he said in "A Christmas Story", the tire was a tire only in the sense that it was round and once made of rubber!   :rotflmao:

One of the BEST things Dad did when he retired, put up the pole shed so we didn't have to haul the boats back & forth all the time. :happy1:

Funny thing - I went to get the spare, pulled off the cover on it and saw it had a lock. Yikes! I didn't even remember putting a lock on it. Checked to see if I had a key - YES. Hadn't touched it in probably 12 years.

My Aluma trailer with the wheeler on it last month. Just South of Menahga on my way to deer camp. L&M in Park Rapids had a replacement on hand for $125.00.  :happy1:

It is never good to have problems, but it is even better when there is someone that can get you back on the road for about $100.   :happy1:
