It was a beautiful morning even if I did not see a bear. I put this stand up 3-4 years ago and this was
my first time using it. After I was done hunting I went back and did some clearing.

Ducks were having a great time in the pond

Not sure if you could see anything this way.  Other than nice colors

Again, nice colors but the leaves will have to be gone before you could see anything this way.

Maybe they will come down the trail.

snow1, I haven't seen a tick for the past two months.  There are plenty in the spring and early summer but are pretty much gone by the middle of august.
Between my brother in law and myself, we have a little over 900 contiguous acres.  Roughly 40% consists of ponds and swamps. There is roughly 60 acres of open hay fields, 5 acres of CRP (trees) and the remaining high ground consists of woods, brush. If I was rich I would have a full time land manager but as it is myself, my son, two brother in laws and a few friends do all the work required to make the place a great wildlife sanctuary.  Yes, hunting is part of it also.  :rotflmao:

Wow! very nice,I'm jealous as hell..you're lucky on the ticks as they re appear as a rule in mid sept until freeze-up that's why I asked, mostly in fir tree stands,my current pup contracted lyme when he was 12 mo's old in oct duck hunting on land pass shooting in a area loaded with cedar tree's,my fault as I was unaware these little bastards re-appear in the fall and stopped using his frontline topical tick stuff, caught it early so he's fine now but he was re-infected two years later from the same area,no symtoms the second time but caught it in his fall blood test...so very mindful these days in the fall hiking/hunting in low lands,it amazes me how tiny these deer ticks are,in the nymph stage I found on me this spring attached they look like a small scab or a spec of dirt, luckly no lyme symtom's for me but scary as heck thinking /reading how lyme can effect one's life if not caught in early stage.

Warm fall days and moisture brings them back out so be mindful wilst on your land.

I stopped bow hunting deer in my area in washington county minn,as I would take/harvest nuisance deer off private land and a local apple orchard, deer harvested I processed myself, had em hanging in my pole barn and skunned when they were still warm,my floor would be moving with all the ticks that fell off my critters90% deer ticks so that ended that deal plus 1 out of 3 deer i couldn't keep, being  in the north metro alot of the deer I shot had body damage from vehicles,in most cases gangrene in wounds or some had gangrene from some arsehole shooting them with .22's,bullets inbedded usually in shoulder area al infected, sad deal,so today its "beef" for dinner.

This is my fall "tick" infested area where I pass shoot ducks, notice the cedar tree's,lot's of deer on this plot of land too.
