Last year he was on our cams every couple of weeks.  This year he was showing up every 5 days like clockwork.   I talked to a neighbor half mile away and he said the same thing.  Lucky for us he always showed up on our cams earlier in the night.  Always after dark but just after legal light. He always checked his 2 scrapes on his way through the middle of our land.    Dad hunted every single day, sunrise to sunset.  It paid off.  On Saturday at 430 pm he stepped out of the buck brush and looked right at dad.  Pops waited until he cleared the last bush and dropped the hammer.  It's the  biggest deer he has ever killed by a long way.  At 77 he said that he can now die a happy man.

Great buck, congratulate him for me.  Geeze, he's only 77 lots more bucks to come.  Great hunt for sure. There's no way I could hunt that long waiting for a buck to show up.  I guess raising you boys has taught him a lot of patience.

I put him through a lot.  Cops kids do that.  Similar to preachers kids.

Biggest issue for me is I'm going  back up Wednesday for the last few days of the season.  The other big buck we have on cam busted one antler off.  Might have to go hit some public land 5 miles away that I haven't hunted in a  couple years.

Looks like great weather for doing some roaming looking for the big one.  Good luck.  I hope the remaining big bucks make it through the muzzleloader season.  I try to get to my land a few times basically to keep the neighbors in check. For some reason they seem to think being we are not muzzleloader hunting, they can push the boundaries.  :tut:
