I read that it helped the wildlife too when the ponds were there from the bombing. Including the moose.  They were also raising a caribou herd north of Waskish too for a few years.  I think Mother Nature reclaimed it all now.

Hmmm I find this hard to believe as the area would be littered with live ordnance today that didnt't go "Boom" just like they find in old europe these days.some of those unexploded 2000lb babies are just lying in wait in that bog.

Yup I agree, laugh all ya want but alot of bog area's have stands of willow type brush with massive root systems one can walk on,been there done that hunting ducks these area's could hold bomb ordnance I bet during draught season's things could get dicey folk meandering around on semi dried up bog and "boom" unintentional IED.

In my younger years living in alaska I  got to know a couple  army mp's from fort rich in anchorage that secured the entry gate to the compound, nice little trout stream that meanderd thru a mortor training area, these mp's let me fish this stream on off days from mortor practice but warned me to stay on the trail or in the stream otherwise bad things could happen.
