I just saw a tidbit on KARE11 about metro area lakes.  They are advising to stay off the lakes now.  But as we know they are anchors not the DNR, and tend to overexagerate.  My opinion would be to be extremely cautious out there-and I myself wouldn't be driving on it at all.  Afterall the warm weather can make things bad in a heartbeat.  *Just my .02 cents!  ;) Be safe out there!

The shoreline at Lake Geneva in S/E WI. It's not good but people are still using some planks to get out.  That was on Friday so I am sure it is worse now.

Current conditions are decent, with approximately 18 inches of ice and decent shorelines, there were a few trucks driving on Peltier last weekend.

The forecast is calling for upper 50's, rain and wind this week, this will tear up the local lakes by next weekend. It will be a sloppy mess on all Metro Lakes by next Saturday.

I was out om Medicine a week ago.  The ice was really spongy within 15 feet of the shore, okay but spotty out further.  At this point I gotta believe you are taking a huge risk heading out.

I was on Rush yesterday, we walked through 10 feet of slushy-water about 6" deep, after that the ice was very safe.

After todays heat and hard rain, it's all over around here. Should be able to get the canoes out in the bays in a week or so.
