You guys have any of these lures?

Field and Stream:  30 Antique Fishing Lures and Why They’re Collectible/

I don't know if you'll get rich selling them, but the write-ups for each were interesting and amusing.  I particularly liked #5.

Yes, there is something sentimental about old tackle to guys of our generation.  I never fished with stuff like this, but I remember the old timers who did.  All their old lures were either lost or retired in lieu of the next new, effective, gimmick technology:  Daredevils, Rapalas, Hula Poppers, etc.

I still have some too, but not as old or as funky as the ones in the article.  They meant something to my dad, and they mean something to me, but my kids have no connection to those old days, no frame of reference, and no attachment.

I got choked up going through all those old lures.  The next person to go through them will probably be shopping at my estate sale and will offer my survivors $10 for the whole box.

That applies to most of my stuff....

Most of my oldies are made of balsa wood with teeth marks to prove it,my fav first top water wood pike/muskie lure was a red/white suick about 10"s long then a runner up muskie top water the "tallie wacker" now called the "awaker" last time I checked on musky lures,on a fixed income these days so $50 a pop ain't happening or muskie fishing.

Warning.  Fishing story ahead.

My dad was muskie fishing using some old wooden plank style lure.  It was yellow with black spots, a scoop spoon in the front, and treble hooks hanging front and rear.

Well a big ol' muskie came up and grabbed it sideways right between the hooks and stopped.  It didn't thrash.  It didn't dive.
It just stayed there on the surface.  My dad tried to set the hook multiple times but couldn't budge the fish.  After a bit the fish released the lure and sank back into the depths.

That happened when I was a little shaver, so I didn't get to see it.  But he did show me the bite marks when I was old enough to prove it happened.

I've got the Creek Chub Pikie Minnow and the Bass Oreno. My dad was an expert at "walking the dog" with thoseold Bass Ofenos.  He fished them on an old Pflueger Supreme mounted on an equally old steel Pflueger rod. Man he caught a LOT of Pike and bass on that combo. I can pull fish on that lure, bur nothing like Dad could. When smallmouth are feeding shallow, that lure should all most be outlawed.I've had them miss it and knock it two feet out of the water,
