Went out of the twin points landing.   The fishing was good with 1 coho, 5 pinks and a laker.  With the sunlight bouncing off the water I quickly got a migraine.   Spent most of the day with my eyes shut.  I only took 1 picture.   It was a selfie with split rock lighthouse in the background.   If we were on a lake close to home I would have put up the white flag and went home after an hour.  I had vacation scheduled for the last week of july to fish lake Michigan out of algoma for a week.  I cancelled on my  buddies.  They understood and thankfully already found a replacement.   Hopefully my vision gets better fast.

Hat and a good dark pair of sun block glasses wouldn't help? 😎

No fun dk. Wife gets migraines & the bad ones are debilitating. I have to pick up the slack when they happen. She's just lucky to have me... ;)

I had sunglasses on but had to take them off to see the phone.  I feel pretty good today.    Didnt have a headache until I did my eye therapy.   Time for a midday nap like Glenn

Do you keep and eat the pinks from the lake?

I've only caught pinks in the river during spawning and they are turning to mush by then.  Not really fit for eating.

Indeed, I was just catching up on a few I missed.

But I am curious if anyone keeps and eats pinks out of the big lake.

I kept the one pink we got yesterday.  It's in the smoker right now.  I will let you know how it turns out.

The pinks I had earlier this year were pretty good.  Cook very fast due to their size.

Reinhard had great north shore fishing intel, right now the pinks should running in the streams, the key to keeping eaters are the fresh pinks just coming in the streams before they turn colors, even in Alaska pinks were the least favorite table fair, most often best canned or we made salmon burgers, mix well with a raw egg and dried bread crumbs go along ways for good eats.
