I am going to hopefully try some new techniques this year fishing.  I've never done:

-drop shot method
-trolling w/cranks
-3 way swivel w/ cranks or livebait
-new method of slip bobber fishing (Mentioned in Greg Bohn's Article)

What techniques new to you are you thinking of trying?

I want to learn more about the slip bobber technique and use that in my fishing repretuear with my son.

I also am planning on doing more with spin bait.

I am just getting back into fishing this summer so I don't want to overwhelm ourselves with things, but i want to increase my overall knowledge of the basics for crappie, sunnies, bass, walleyes, and northerns.

Slip bobbers for Walleyes.
I always seem to end up doing the same thing every time out and this year plan on expanding my horizons.  Hopefully some of these new techniques will produce more fish for me this year. ::cheers::

The one thing I have wanted to try for yrs I read long ago in a book.. The person that wrote it was Bucher and he had a great idea about "working the wood for walleye".  I have sort of tried it around bank beaver houses and such with a little success, but this yr I want to really try it.. QG

Trolling crank baits.

I went out and bought a line counter reel and 8' rod at the Sportshow (I think Woody may have influenced me). I also bought a copy of "Precision Trolling".  I've got a half dozen new crank baits sitting next to me at the computer - Deep tail dancers and Reefrunners.

I also bought some spiffy little Charlie Brewer slider something or others - about 1.5" long with a thumper tail. I bought these for crappie fishing but I keep looking at them and thinking they should work well for walleyes - especially in the weeds rigged weedless.
