April 9. One more time on ice

I decided since it was nice out and there is a storm moving in i would go out and try catching some crappies.  I headed to Big Sandy and got there around 2:30.   Within minutes i pulled the first Crappie through the ice and the fish bit steady for the next couple hours or so...I had a hard time getting a good hookset on them though.  I ended up cathing about 20 nice crappies (10 1/2-13"), a few bluegills, and a couple walleyes. Here are some pictures of some of the fish i caught.

It was a great day to be on the ice.  If you want another trip out ice fishing, get up there soon,  the ice is still pretty decent and the fish are biting.

   hey !!  glad to see that ppl can still get out ! the ice here in the brd lakes area  was bad ? and it did some what of a turn around with the cold weather. good luck if you make it out again !!
