Red Wing has been a huge population whenever I have been there.  They are everywhere.  Too cool.

There is a pair that nest on the south end of Keller Lake. Near Hwy 36 and 61. I drive by there everyday.

Special bonus.
There a several MnDOT Traffic Information Centers along that corridor between Dresbach and Lake Pepin. And each one has a large interpretive sign approximately
3' x 7'. One of them discusses the local eagle population. I designed them for MnDOT about 10 or 12 years ago. All of them are interesting. One of my favorites is about the clam harvesting industry in Lake Pepin. The clam shells were used to make buttons.

A few years back we saw them up on Winnie in late winter eating dead fish on the ice.  I was shocked to see them here that far north in the winter.

Up here in Warroad,MN, by Lake of the Woods, bald eagles are a fairly common sight. With the over population of deer we have, there are many road kills laying in the ditch's. I see bald eagles feeding on them all the time. The sight of a bald eagle always leaves me in awe. I can remember the days, only too well, when it was rare to spot one anywhere. A good place to see them, in the relative proximity of the metro area, is the Sherburne County WMA, located up near Zimmerman,MN. There are roads marked as good one's to take if you want to see bald eagles. ::dancinred:: DIRTBALL2 ;)

There is a big nest south (west side of hwy) of the new gas station in Waskish (URL).  It has been there for years!  The pair has young every other year.

I went to college in Winona.  The drive down Hwy 61 from the cities always has Bald eagles flying overhead.  It is a great drive!
