The Walleye fishing has been very good the last couple of days.  You should be able to boat about 50 fish per day.  Stay away from the crowds, fish in 4-6 feet of water on a break.  Pink lures with a black eye have been working the best.

I just got back from the Red. We battled the wind, rain and cool temps. We rode it out in the boats for two and 1/2 days. We headed to the river and "other" available shore spots. We had no problem catching our slot fish and caught our limit of crappies for seven. I couldn't believe the amount of sheephead we caught. This is my sixth year and I have never seen so many. My friend actually caught an 8 lb one. It was a monster and looked like a halibut. He released it. We had a great time and will be back this winter. I bought the 2nd book of the game warden saga. I spent some time on the dock talking to Shorty Hillman about some of the episodes in the book. It was entertaining to say the least. I hit a deer on the way home just south of Blackduck. My truck now resides in Pequot Lakes for some repair. I was able to drive it that far before the radiator gave out.

We didn't do as well.  We went out on Friday late afternoon, it was cold.  We caught three walleye(too big) and many sheephead.  I caught the biggest one I have ever caught.  It must have weighed 10 lbs!!  I couldn't get my hand around it, I had to use two hands to hold it!!  Saturday, in between rains we worked on the deer stands and mowed trails.  We left early Sunday morning.

The walleye fishing is still strong.  The water is warming up, and the crappie action is picking up.
