Archery in the Schools Program

Does anyone have any experience with the National Archery in the Schools Program (NAISP) sponsored by the MN DNR?  I think this would be a great way to get our youth involved in hunting/archery but I don't know of anyone whose school might have used this program.

White Bear High Schools do it.  I tried talking to the Jr High principal when my kid first got to that grade and they blew me off like a candle on a cake -- POOF!  Told me the kids would get to do it in Sr High.  Maybe they think Jr high kids may not have the maturity yet but Im just guessing there.

I think it would be great for Jr. high students to have this experience as well.  But, at least you tried.  I'd love to get something like this going at our school, but we have kids at a parochial school through 8th grade; then in high school from 9th grade up; so not sure if all our kids would get to benefit from this.  Unless the high school would also allow other local schools to join them?   It doesn't sound like that was the case for White Bear though?

GM, maybe you just run into a princble that doesn't like archery or that it may lead to hunting.

Yeah maybe I should get ahold of the district counsel instead of just the one school.
