fishing in the brainerd lakes area has been a hit and miss this week ! as with the weather being to hot , windy or raining fishing has seen a turn around . crappies are still biteing on the gull river at the fishermans bridge and crow wing river down stream from the pillager dam. walleyes are active in the same waters useing fat heads and glow jigs trolled  or straight lined from the boat in 10 fow from dark till well after midnite. as far as bass and sunnies they are active all through the day ! likeing nite crawlers and small beatle spinn type lures fished mostly towards the bottom of the deeper waters . pike action started to pick up here in the last few warmer days and being caught with crappie minnows and lite pike minnows as well, so they are on the move and should be hot to be caught as the weather stays at this warmth .

good fishing and hope this helps you fisherman out .

Yeppers  know just what you are talking about WoodChuck..

me and my fishing partner hit a few of the lakes yesterday morning and found the fish in 10-24 feet of water and the bass are still shallow and hitting on green and red spinnerbaits.
while the pike liked the red and white daredevil's that was on rock lake if you want to fish  i can recommend getting there before 9 am so you don't the play boats.

on the other hand pillager lake was hot !!
bass and pike were a grand slam !! in 12 feet of water using green and yellow spinner baits also we tried bright colors on mister twisters and rapala's..
On a quite nite up north you can almost here the deer laughing
