I'll tell ya where you can put the smack down on them "Big Time"

I hunted this spot last fall several times. I most likely won't get a chance to do it again.

If any of you hunt near Huntinson

You go to Cedar Lake, you go to the Northwest end, where the back waters heads west. Set up right along that point.

The birds poor out of the refuge in Hutchinson and they LOVE! to come in to that spot with a northwest/west wind. We even put the smackdown on them with a east wind there one time.

We shot Mallards(Lots of them), geese, woodies, cans, pintails, widgon, teal

 We had a ball

I can't do it anymore,  so some of you might just as well

 Have Fun!

Bufflehead,

I think you have some grudge against someone and now you are spilling his spot. Kind of childish I would say. Ethical duck hunters don't give up secret hunting spots that they were kindly shown..

You seem like a real piece of work!

Post Edited: That was a bit too personal, attacking someone by name. Please keep your matters personal and don't register on our site just to post garbage. If you want to join in on the fun we are having here at MNO then please do! Thank You.

Amazing!!

You tell people a good spot to go and try and shoot some birds and you get hammered for it

Cedar Lake is a big lake with lots of room for hunters w/many points and bays.

It is a good farming area with fields for feeding and in the flyway of the Hutch refuge.

Just because "one" guy thinks he owns the whole lake(Public)

Instead of people siding in with the thought it's Public waters,

I'm told I shouldn't give a good spot away to protect one person and BLASTED FOR IT!!

No use giving field reports if a person is only going to tell you what county or state their in

In other words...no reason to even post or read a field report on the net

Remember, decoy spread, calling and where you set up can mean either a great day of shooting or ZIPPO and a dry dog.

By the way..I fish Winnie for Walleyes...I guess It's my lake then..isn't it?

By the way, lots of pot holes around the area on many of the farms.

Just stop and ask permission first. I seen tons of Teal in these pot holes everyday during the first half of the season

OOoP's there I go again giving out good info...Remember..lie and NEVER tell the truth when posting field reports. Then you won't be BLASTED for giving out good info

I agree with your frustrations. I don't know who dk is but he registered on MNO to make one derogatory post and left. Not the kind of members we need here. Not sure why Wallace followed suit. He is young.

There is more to this than meets the eye....     Some people need to get over their resentments and move on in life and quit obsessing with the past and trying to screw another guy over.   ....and that is all I'm going to say.

I can give you all another prime spot to go, I still get thetre when I can, but it won;t be nearly as often. Why? Because its a 4 hour drive for me now. I used to hunt alot on the mississippi river south of La Crosse. Its usually an awsome place. Especially around "Goose Island". So am I also trying to whiz in someones wheaties? Public water is just that, open to the public. There are too many people in WI and MN who think because they have hunted a certain spot for a few years that it becomes THEIRS. Well, BS. Lemme tell you what, I have gotton in the marsh at 2am before to insure I got the spot I wanted. I have also been told be a group of deer hunters that I was hunting "thier" spot. I was on pulic land! They happen to come to that area every year and camp for a week to hunt. Well, good for you, but I am still allowed to hunt their if I so choose. If you don't like it, buy the section, or in this case, buy the entire l;akeshore around the lake and then no-one will have access. Until then, if its public and you get the spot you want but find someone has beaten you to it, move on and act like a sportman and not an *******.

I disagree with sharing these smaller secluded public areas with the general public, sending a bunch of people to a certain spot only ruins the hunting for everyone (including yourself) depending on how much pressure this place can handle would determine if this tip is out of line.

Only the original poster can determine if this place is capable of handling the hunting pressure that could or will happen by sharing ths spot with all of us.

I personally think this area was posted to piss someone else off, no matter the reason for wanting to ruin the others guys sucess, it is plain wrong to share this information in a public forum. This makes us all look bad and affects more people than just the 2 main parties.

I'll share certain hunting or fishing spots with anyone, only if it is a place that can handle a large amount of traffic or pressure, teloiing someone about a hot bite on Mille, Lacs, Winnie, Leech, LOTW or Red Lake is a lot different than sharing a small lake in Itaska County at the end of a gravel road in the middle of nowhere.

Very sad if this thread was started to only ruin another persons hunting sucess...... And I dont care who was right or wrong in the original argument or reason for the falling out of the 2 original parties involved.

My 2 cents.....

This lake is 2-3 miles long and close to a mile wide in places

Lots of room..many points and bays along with back waters

Infact, it's one of the biggest shallow water lakes in the area.

This is NOT! a small little honey hole.

http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/showreport.html?downum=43011500

 Over 1900 acers

Compaired to Lake Marion in Lakeville South of the metro area..which is a good size lake of 560 acers..which many of you may be familar with..being from the mero

http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/showreport.html?downum=19002600

Cedar is near 4 times as big

I don't think I zoned right in on some little pot hole

I think it can support a few hunters

and NOBODY should think they own any part of it..it's "PUBLIC" waters

For the record..just how big does a body of water have to be before a person can use it in a recommended hunting spot?

So theres one ******* on the lake

I think there's enough room to avoid him...I'll try to stop picking on him ::banghead:: ::banghead:: ::banghead::

 I'm done!
