BATTLE LAKE - Ben's Bait & Tackle, Josie, Junction of Hwy 78 and 210 (218-864-5596)

The walleyes are biting on a few area lakes.

On Rush Lake they are mainly night fishing in about 17 feet of water with leeches.

On Battle Lake they are also fishing with leeches, but a little deeper out in 20 to 25 feet of water.

On Ottertail Lake they are using crawlers and leeches and are fishing out in about 22 feet of water, coming shallower on top of the flats in 7 feet of water if it gats windy.

They have been getting some nice northerns on Clitheral trolling sucker minnows in the weeds.

The muskie action has really picked up; people have been pulling plugs on Battle Lake and bobber fishing with large sucker minnows.

The sunnies are biting on Molly Stark, Clitheral, Battle and Star Lakes.  On Star, they are getting some nice ones on small leeches.  The bass are biting like crazy all over casting into the shallow weeds using plastics.
