Just wondering how many others are planning of building a new shack this yr? I might build another after layoff. It's not that I need it but just something I enjoy to do and to keep me out of trouble in the same time.

I paln on building one and remodeling another.  I'm probably going to take the carpet out and put down plywood.  I hate how th carpet holdw water, and it seems like hooks are always getting caught .

I'm thinking about building a new suitcase type portable this year like the Mankato E-Z Set. Does anybody know of where I can get a do it yourself kit like the one Cabela's has? I would like one just a little bit bigger than the one Cabela's has. :taz:DIRTBALL2 ;)

dirtball.. I got one for ya... check my add in classifieds.  If you want a different hole layout, you could just replace the plywood floor.

I just had the lumber deliverd for the new fish house today.  The sun was shining, and then all of a sudden the wind picked up, and it started to sleet.  Is this a sign of good things to come?

Well I am the proud new owner of an early 60's 15x7 travel trailer.  She has some rot in the corners but it has GREAT bones, a good floor, a solid trailer and a furnace and stove/over I can work with.  Believe it or not, there come apart preaty easy and are pretty easy to restore.  I am cutting out 2x4 ftt boxes in the corners and will place a box of the same size in them that will be insulated and lower right on to the ice.  I should able to cut 2 holes in ea of them.  I am hoping to place 3-4 of these in the house.  It will sleep 4 with the bunk set up I am making and I plan on skirting it with stair runner or possibly making solid wood skirts that will drop down on the 4 open sides of the outside of the trailer to help keep the wind out from the gap between the ice and the bottom of the trailer.  Not sure hgow much moving Im going to do with it.  might be a pretty permanent shack based on how lazy I become this winter.

Ill take some photos of the work in progress and post them.

Shes a very solid rig and the demolishin has been pretty easy so far.  I have a small 2x3' (approx) LP operated Fridge that appears in very good shape for the taking. its a avacodo green in coler but clean.   Do not know if it works as I have not attempted to fire it up but it looks like it was not used much at all. FREE email me to the first person willing to drive out to the boonies in Amery, wi to get it.

Later all

Yes these are out there ya just have to be fast to get to em.  I bought this one off of craigslist and it was actually in Somerset near were I live.  They wanted $300 for it and the guy who answered the ad before me had it wrapped up so I told the seller that if he didnt show to give me a call. sure enough a week later I got the call to come pick it up and got it for $220 after some tough negotiating. It needed air in the dry rootted tires but i took it easy and got it home the 25 miles I had to go.  Gonna be a sweet shack when I get done.  Ill get pics on tomorrow eve.  Be careful on buying one of these with out looking at it real close.  The frames can crack and that can be a major issue.  I figure it will serve 2 puposes, Ice shack in the winter, primative camper in the spring and fall, I took out a lot of its windows so it might be kinda warm for summer use.

Keep you eyes peeled and yer wallet at hand, the right deal will land your way.
