Saturday 9/29 report:

Today I had newcomers Corby Yarwood and his young guns Tyler and Matt. The boys were quick on the draw when setting the hook on those Hungry Jack pike this morning. We spent a little extra time trolling for pike at daybreak today and it paid off. We trolled between 1.5 and 3 mph while pumping those rods continuously. Total results were 3 shorts, 1 cutoff, 1 escapee at the boat and 6 pike landed.

It was lots of fun watching the boys try to power in those pike. Matt did a fine job playing his fish, but we had to remind him breath in between cranks and his facial expressions during the battle were a must see. Tyler managed the best pike today and you would have thought he'd a just pitched a no hitter with his victory dance.

We started to fish the smallies a little late today due to the earlier victory dances, Kodak moments, and general rehashing of today's pike stories. Most spots were under a lot of pressure with the many fisherman that were enjoying the early Fall weather.

The boys weren’t to familiar with the smallie techniques but managed just fine with a little coaching. Tyler lost the best smallmouth of the day right at the boat, but soon got over it as the action picked up. Today's smallmouth total was 17.

Thanks to the Yarwood men it was a most enjoyable adventure for the guide today and I thank them for that.

Se ya on the water,

Lee

I see you've been differentiated from the rest of the midwest. Excellent.

Always a pleasure.
Thanks SMG.
