I'm walking out the door for another session with the dog, I ride my bike and have her chase me for 2 miles every day. We started this last week, it gets her back into shape very quick for the season.

What do the rest of you do? There is less than 3 days until the opener.....

I take Rio out for two long walks every day and work in some intense games of fetch. He's only 8 months old, so this will be his first experience in the filed, i cant wait to see how he does.

I run em on weekends doing checkcord work and cardio work (for me and the dog) on open fields.  During the week, walks on the bike/rollerblade paths around home.  Be aware running dogs on asphalt will take its toll on your huntin buddies joints and will take years away from his hunting days...they dont get to wear running shoes, their bodies are made for running on dirt & grass.... happy2.gif         -thunderpout 8)

  • A day hunting, with my boys and gunner = paradise
I recenty adopted a Weimermier at 5 months of age. He is a great runner and stays very close in the field and woods.  fudd.gif We hunt grouse to stay in shape as well his daily walk/run. Just a note to all 10 minutes of aquatic activities is = 1mile of running. Alot easier on their joints and spine and disc's. Good luck
