new this year incase you didn't hear,
Only one walleye over 20 inches now allowed in daily and possession
limits for inland waters.
This is for ALL lakes in MN.? This is on top of all the other slot limits specific for certain lakes.
Also, do forget to check out those lake specific restrictions, there are a bunch of new ones this year.

I didn't see this right away, so I am glad I went back and checked.? 1 a day is fine, but in possession too??? ? in 5 years, they'll probably all be catch and release.? This is getting ridiculous.

it's like the new fad, changing the laws to more and more restrictive limitations.
i say you are right on track BFG
what's next after catch and release? lures without harmful hooks?
No fishing at all?
i don't think we'll see that though. the anti's and their friends in the legislature like to mess around with any and nearly everything we enjoy doing, so if they cut us off entirely from everything, they wouldn't know what to do with themselves. they would have no cause.

i would say that the upside to this all, that if we cant catch fish or are trimmed down to such a minimum, we can then trim down the state budget by releasing all the fisheries people involved in re-stocking efforts. we simply wont need them. except to please the people who come to the viewing platforms we used to call fishing piers. ::)

at what point do we put our foot down and yell "WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH"!!
take a kid hunting and fishing!!

THWACK KILLS!!

I don't think this has anything to do with the "Anti's"

This has everything to do with the over-indulger's.

i dont think its the anti"s" either its the people who make the crazy laws throught  out the entire books of regs...i got pulled over on my wheeler last labor day and got a 130$ ticket for riding too close to the road after i was told by the local barney fife that i was legal to ride there when i told the c.o. that between the hunting /fishing regs and there suttle changes each year i get confused he told me that this is the worst state for regs for them.. and his advise was to read them several times each year as they do to enforce them...good luck to all who go on the opener...ice banger

I think you both are right to a point. It starts out as a small group, in this case I believe it would be the CPR ONLY guys who want to catch fish and never keep any. They only want the trophy of a lifetime.

The anti's then join the bandwagon without anys knowledge. They pretend to be outdoorsmen "concerned about the fisheries" talking about "trophy or quality fishing". Don't believe everything everyone says.

I want quality fishing myself as do the rest of you I'd imagine. Trust me their are people watching this who would love to do nothing than eliminate our hobbies. They do not realize that they then would be without the leather shoes they are acoustomed to wearing or the leather car seats, yes most of them are hipocrites.

They are masters at useing emotions and personel feelings to turn comrades (sportsmen) against each other. They will bring up poachers and as Mayfly said over indulgers to turn us against each other. They then bring this whole fight to legislature with half of us with them. Remember they spend their money fighting us while we spend our money buying more tackle. ??? Who will win that legal battle?

I have seen this happen in trapping over the yrs. It seems like things are mellowing a bit for now but remember the lull before the storm. The best way to handle any situation like this is with education, not by some arm chair expert or some college educated idiot. By knowledge by someone who really knows what is going on, what affects what and how.

  I hope this makes sense.

griz i see your point...but the antis have to fight the money that we spend  on our passion if there is no fishing or hunting the state will lose...the tax dollars that we provide are insane plus most of us own an atv or sled or our gas guzzling trucks more monies to the state...we do need to getsome of these crazy laws under control..we do need to some how come together and say if you want our money you need to listen to us..not some crazy group from the left coast...ice banger

The antis believe if we don't hunt and kill the animals they will live happy ever after.  They have never seen Mother Nature kill them when they get to thick, taking several weeks or months doing it
