Some how my dog slipped out the door as my GF was taking out the trash...  Addie ran right into traffic and was hit by a car.  I took her to the e vet and got her stabilized and ran her to the U of M.  They asked to keep her overnight  as she had some major lung bruising and internal bleeding.  She has also lost some teeth.  In the end I think she will make a decent recovery.  You never know when something like this is going to happen.  I feel lucky she is doing as well as she is.

I am sorry to here about your dogs injuries.  That is good news that she looks to make a decent recovery.  You are both in my thoughts and prayers.  Hang in there!

My Setter Drummer sticks in his yard, but occasionally if he sees his lab buddy across the street  they will run across to play...it gives me the willies.  Yeah hes got the fenced in back yard, and if Im in front workin on stuff hes always on a rope...but it just takes that one time...Drummer an I send our best reguards for Addie to get well soon!!!      -thunderpout 8)

Addie came home today.  2 Days in the Hospital.  And 2 months bed rest.   Seems like with some time and  TLC she will be back on track.    ::rockon:: love2.gif party2.gif

Glad to hear your dog is doing well.  Another reason I am glad I live where I do, in the country with slow driving neighbors on a dead end road.  The only car my dogs have to worry about is mine.  Last spring I was driving in the yard to the barn to check on my cows when my 7 month old yellow lab decided to run and stop in front of my car!!!! I was driving slow enough that there was no suffering but my own!!!!!!!

Agreed, She is very tough to keep on bed rest. But she popped her lungs on the impact of the car.  Those lungs are very bruised... If she does not stay on bed rest her lungs will possibly have permanent damage..  Its not worth the risk... So 2X a night I get up and walk her... I go in to get exrays in the morn.. Hope they say she is doing very well and she does not need 2 months..
