I fished Susan last Thursday.  We were out there for 2.5 hrs, caught 8 keeper crappies.  Waxies and crappie minnows, about 16.5 ft.  Vex got real busy around 5:45 pm.

Nope.  A lot of red on the bottom of the vex, but no takers if they were walleyes.  We only targeted sunnies and crappies.

o yes there are walleyes in there for sure but they are very difficult to catch except for the first 2 weeks of the summer otherwise they are very hard to locate. there is also a large population of bullheads in there so that could possibly be the red you were seeing. lol

I haven't been out much - certainly not as much as I would like - but it seems like it's been a slow year in the SW metro. I've heard that the Walleye bite's been pretty good on Tonka, though we fished it 2 weekends ago and couldn't find them. Waconia reports are that it's been quiet for the most part. Prior has it's moments, but there are so many people out there typically. I've heard a couple decent reports out of Mitchell, but haven't fished it myself.
