DETROIT LAKES - Dick Beardsley?s Guide Service (218-846-9230) The panfishing remains good here in the area! Shallow water is the key for the bluegills while 5-8 feet seems to be holding most of the crappies. Little Nipper and small Foxie jigs with a small minnow or waxworm is working well. Most of those bluegills are tight up against the cattails on most of the lakes. Little Cormorant, Big Cormorant, Pelican, Prairie, Crystal, Toad, Detroit are all kicking out panfish. The walleye opener should be a good one if the weather holds! Look for those fish to be on the emerging weedlines in 12-18 feet. Jigs and minnows should work well along with Lindy Rigs. Detroit, Pelican, Round, White Earth, Sallie, Melissa, Lizzy, Lida and Crystal should all be good for the opener. Please remember to practice selective harvesting, by doing so we will continue to have great fishing for years to come! Have a fun and safe opener!
