Ely area ice

Ice on Burntside Lake today was about 21 inches thick, but very soft.

It took the auger 6-8 seconds to cut through.

4-6 inches of water and slush on top of it.

A few days of upper 50's, sun, and wind should kick some major league butt.

Estimation:Ice out around the 27th-29th of April, unless some cold spell comes in, and gives us a setback

With 6 inches of water on top of the ice you should be able to water ski behind your 4 wheeler. Could you send us some photos of that?
